Anthony Q. Edwards was born on May 26th, 1966, a native of Casa Grande, Arizona. He is the fourth child of six children, born to the union of Superintendent Clarence C. and Evangelist Missionary Betty J. Edwards. He graduated from Casa Grande Union High School in 1984 and attended New Mexico Highlands University where he broke all the university school records as a wide receiver, NAIA First Team All American, while he was the Team Captain for three years, 1985, 1987, 1988 and majored in business management.
He is certified with the NFL business management and entrepreneurial program of Stanford Graduated School and the NFL athletic development professional program of Wharton School of Business. Anthony played with the Philadelphia Eagles for two years and Arizona Cardinals for eight years as a wide receiver and special team player over a period of ten years. He is in his twenty-first season with the Arizona Cardinals as Senior Director of Player Development/Engagement, Team Chaplain, and Training Camp Director and Travel Advance Man.
Pastor Edwards, accepted Jesus as his personal Savior and was filled with the Holy Ghost in 1991 and was called to the ministry in 1994. He was ordained as an Elder through the Church of God in Christ by the late Bishop Felton King in the year 2000 and appointed the Assistant Pastor of Greater Evangelist Temple by his father Superintendent Clarence C. Edwards in the year 2005.
Pastor Edwards, is a faithful leader and servant. He has served in many positions here at Greater Evangelist Temple and currently serving as the president of the Building fund Committee, Youth Dept., Brotherhood Dept. and a member of the Trustee Board, Sanctuary Choir and Praise Team.
His astute administrative skills, energetic personality and his willingness to serve God, and his congregation are a testament of his heartfelt leadership skills. He performs praise and worship services, prepares the ministerial speaking engagements for the calendar year, and spearheads various financial campaign activities and other ministerial duties. His first endeavor as the Pastor is a plan known as “Stay in your lane” which is accomplishing the goal he and the congregation have set their mind towards.
Pastor Edwards is married to his college sweetheart First Lady MaryAnn Aguilar-Edwards for 30 years. They are the proud parents of three children, Tony, Torrey, and Tynette and two grandchildren, Arianna and Elijah Edwards.
